questions to consider - education

The following questions and reflections are based around the teaching brought on Sunday 30th August. The service can be viewed online here or the notes from the teaching can be found on the blog here

READ Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Timothy 3:14-17, Psalm 78:1-4 and Ephesians 4:11-13

Noting the many references to teaching, learning and other educational phrases in these passages, how much have you thought of the Christian life in terms of being educated to live as a Christian?

In the light of these verses, do you think that you need to reassess how you are being educated in your walk with God?

‘Being a disciple who makes disciples’ – do you need to be deliberate in having someone disciple you and in having someone that you disciple? If you are not currently in these situations, pray, perhaps share with someone else, and ask God to lead you to those whom you can invest in and who can invest in you. Perhaps consider inviting someone to Alpha or to share in another course, or to read some scripture together and share what God is saying to you through it.

READ 1 Kings 3:1-15a & 4:29-34

Steve referenced Solomon and a number of other Biblical figures and their varying means of education in many spheres of life.

What is/was your motivation for education? How much do you or do you not identify with Solomon’s?

Steve, in his sermon, spoke about supporting and being supported in education, whether as students or those enabling education. If you are involved in education, who might you ask to support you in prayer? If you are not involved in education, who might you seek to stand with and support in prayer. Prayerfully seek to make a connection within the next week

Take some time to pray for all involved in education in and around the life of the church at Coton Green at this time.
